Building an employee communications system for a 20,000+ person digital workplace
I supported a large-scale digital workplace ecosystem by improving how communication requests were prioritised, content was governed, and employee programmes were delivered across channels.

• THE CHALLENGE
High volumes, low clarity
A high-volume communications environment required clearer intake, prioritisation, governance, and delivery standards—while supporting employee programmes and new technology adoption.
Without an ordered framework, critical messages were easily lost in noise, and teams operated in silos, leading to friction, bloated feedback loops, and delayed program launches across the ecosystem.
• THE APPROACH
Intake, triage, and consistency
I built a structured communications intake and triage mechanism to prioritise requests, route work to the right owners, and create greater visibility across stakeholders. I also developed SOPs, templates, editorial guidelines, and communication toolkits that made delivery more consistent and efficient.
1. Structured Intake
Standardised submission forms and impact scoring algorithms to eliminate ad-hoc, urgent pings.
2. Governance SOPs
Clear review rules and explicit division of editorial ownership for high-tier campaigns.
3. Delivery Toolkits
Intranet templates, newsletter boilerplate blocks, and pre-packaged communication packs for faster scaling.
• THE DELIVERY
Multichannel program integration
The work supported newsletters, SharePoint and intranet resources, FAQs, onboarding materials, leadership communications, and integrated communications for Hackathon, Learning, and Give. It also included organisational and emerging Copilot-related change communications.
Integrated Campaigns
Hackathon updates, annual Give campaign pushes, and structured continuous Learning tracks.
Intranet Architecture
Complete structural overhaul of legacy SharePoint hubs, prioritising search-ability and audience segmentation.
Copilot Strategy
Change management plans and prompt literacy communications to accelerate adoption of generative AI tools.
• THE OUTCOME
A scalable operating model
A more structured communications operating model helped increase employee engagement, improve communication efficiency, and reduce approval-cycle time across a large, complex digital workplace.
