• THE CHALLENGE
Preserving rigour inside accessibility
Academic research can be valuable yet difficult for non-specialist audiences to access. The editorial challenge was to preserve intellectual rigour while creating clear, relevant, and timely narratives for an executive readership.
Without an ordered framework, critical messages were easily lost in noise, and teams operated in silos, leading to friction, bloated feedback loops, and delayed program launches across the ecosystem.
• THE APPROACH
Direct, collaborative translation
I worked directly with faculty, deans, and institutional leadership to identify the central argument in research and translate it into structured, audience-appropriate thought leadership. The work involved shaping research-led articles, faculty commentary, and executive-facing narratives around contemporary management, business, policy, and market issues.
01. Research interpretation
Identified the research question, key evidence, and implications that mattered to a non-academic audience.
02. Narrative development
Developed clear editorial angles, structure, language, and context without oversimplifying the underlying work.
03. Institutional alignment
Worked with faculty and leadership to ensure content was accurate, credible, and aligned with ISB’s institutional voice.
04. Audience relevance
Connected research findings to live business and policy conversations, helping audiences understand both the “what” and the “so what.”
• THE EDITORIAL SYSTEM
From research to relevant insight
I worked with faculty, deans, and institutional leadership to turn management research into accessible, credible thought leadership for business leaders, alumni, and policymakers. The focus was not simply on publishing academic material, but on clarifying its relevance for real-world decisions and conversations.
Research Interpretation
Identified the core question, evidence, and practical implications within faculty research to create a clear editorial foundation for non-academic audiences.
Executive Narratives
Shaped research-led articles and faculty commentary into structured, accessible narratives for business leaders, alumni, policymakers, and wider public audiences.
Institutional Voice
Worked with faculty and leadership to ensure content was accurate, balanced, timely, and aligned with ISB’s credible research-led voice.
• THE OUTCOME
A stronger bridge between academic research and mainstream business audiences-one that positioned faculty expertise as accessible, evidence-based thought leadership rather than academic material published without editorial interpretation.
